Protects against corrosion and scale formation in steam, hot water and chilled water
systems. Also suitable for corrosive waters of low hardness containing a high level of
silica. For closed hot water or chilled systems, T523 is normally dosed so as to maintain
the tannin value at 12- 18 and the pH above 10.

Causes burns.
Risk of serious damage to eyes.
The material can produce chemical burns within the oral cavity and gastrointestinal tract following ingestion. Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments.
The material can produce chemical burns to the eye following direct contact. Vapors or mists may be extremely irritating. If applied to the eyes, this material causes severe eye damage. The material may produce moderate eye irritation leading to inflammation. Repeated or prolonged exposure to irritants may produce conjunctivitis.
The material can produce chemical burns following direct contactwith the skin. The material may cause skin irritation after prolonged or repeated exposure and may produce on contact skin redness, swelling, the production of vesicles, scaling and thickening of the skin.
If inhaled, this material can irritate the throat andlungs of some persons. Not normally a hazard due to non-volatile nature of product. The material may produce respiratory tract irritation, and result in damage to the lung including reduced lung function.
Principal route of exposure is usually by skin contact. Skin contact may cause little pain and therefore care should be taken of gloves and boots. The liquid may cause third degree burns depending on length of exposure. The liquid may cause permanent sight impairment. Inhalation of mist may result in spasm, inflammation and oedema of the larynx and bronchi, chemical pneumonitis and severe pulmonary oedema. Symptoms of overexposure include burning sensation, coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting. Ingestion causes severe mucous membrane damage, nausea, vomiting, upper respiratory tract inflammation, suffocation, stomach inflammation, cardiac arrest, possible death.
