Resin for foundry patterns.
"foundry pattern resin Dynacast A"
Harmful by inhalation.
May cause SENSITIZATION by inhalation and skin contact.
Harmful: danger of serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through
inhalation.
Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.
Although ingestion is not thought to produce harmful effects, the material may still be damaging to the health of the individual following ingestion, especially where pre- existing organ (e.g. liver, kidney) damage is evident. Present definitions of harmful or toxic substances are generally based on doses producing mortality (death) rather than those producing morbidity (disease, ill-health). Gastrointestinal tract discomfort may produce nausea and vomiting. In an occupational setting however, ingestion of insignificant quantities is not thought to be cause for concern. Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments.
This material can cause eye irritation and damage in some persons. The material may be irritating to the eye, with prolonged contact causing inflammation. Repeated or prolonged exposure to irritants may produce conjunctivitis.
This material can cause inflammation of the skin oncontact in some persons. Skin contact is not thought to have harmful health effects, however the material may still produce health damage following entry through wounds, lesions or abrasions.
If inhaled, this material can irritate the throat andlungs of some persons. Inhalation of vapor is more likely at higher than normal temperatures.
Inhaling this product is more likely to cause a sensitization reaction in some persons compared to the general population. Skin contact with the material is more likely to cause a sensitization reaction in some persons compared to the general population.
The principal routes of exposure are usually via skin contact and inhalation. Prolonged and repeated contact can cause minor skin irritation, breathlessness, severe coughing, asthma-like symptoms and chest discomfort. Inhalation of vapour can cause mucous membrane irritation, chest tightness, coughing, headache, dyspnea and sensitization/allergic reaction. Skin contact may cause redness and swelling. Excessive exposure may cause irritation of the eyes, upper respiratory tract and lungs. Respiratory sensitization may result in asthma-like symptoms in some individuals, on subsequent exposures even below the TLV. Skin sensitization results in allergic dermatitis, the symptoms of which include rash, itching, hives and swelling of the extremities. The onset of symptoms may be delayed for several hours after exposure. Systemic effects are not expected to be different from the acute effects reported.
