JOHNSONS TYLENOL PARACETAMOL 500MG TABLETS

PRODUCT USE

Analgesic and antipyretic for the temporary relief of pain and discomfort associated with
headaches, muscular aches, rheumatism, arthritis, neuralgia, menstruation and symptoms
associated with colds, flu and many viral infections. Reduces fever. Recommended Dosage
Adults: 1- 2 tablets every 4- 6 hours, not to exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours. Children (7- 9
years): Half tablet every 4- 6 hours, not to exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Children (10- 12
years): One tablet every 4- 6 hours, not to exceed 4 doses in 24 hours.

CHRONIC HEALTH EFFECTS

  Principal route of exposure is usually by ingestion.  The material may accumulate in the human body and progressively causetissue damage.  A small fraction of an ingested dose may be metabolically activated in the  liver and in the kidney to a form that reacts covalently with tissue  nucleophiles. Toxic doses of the drug presumably deplete liver stores of  reduced glutathione and the metabolite is then free to react with essential  tissue macromolecules resulting in cell death and necrosis.
