PRODUCT USE

Decongestant capsules for relief of nasal congestion, head colds and bronchitis. Snip tip
off capsule and squeeze contents onto a tissue or handkerchief or into 500 mL of hot, not
boiling, water and inhale the vapour. For young children: dab contents onto a handkerchief
tied down securely in the vicinity, but out of reach of the child. Not to be taken
internally.

RISK

Irritating to skin.
May cause SENSITIZATION by skin contact.
Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS

ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS

SWALLOWED

  Ingestion may result in nausea, abdominal irritation, pain and vomiting.  

EYE

  There is some evidence to suggest that this material can causeeye irritation and damage in some persons.  The liquid may produce eye discomfort causing smarting, pain and redness.  

SKIN

  This material can cause inflammation of the skin oncontact in some persons.  

CHRONIC HEALTH EFFECTS

  Skin contact with the material is more likely to cause a sensitization reaction in some persons compared to the general population.  

  Principal routes of exposure are usually by inhalation of vapour and  accidental skin contact with the liquid.  Prolonged or continuous skin contact with the liquid may cause defatting with drying, cracking, irritation and dermatitis following.
