Base component of two part Zip Patch adhesive. Requires that the two parts be mixed by
hand or mixer before use, in accordance with manufacturers directions. Mix only as much as
is required. Do not return the mixed material to the original containers. Applied using a
hand trowel or spreader. The use of a quantity of material in an unventilated or confined
space may result in increased exposure and an irritating atmosphere developing. Before
starting consider control of exposure by mechanical ventilation.
"RS Components CP-0153/1A"
Causes severe burns.
Risk of serious damage to eyes.
May cause SENSITIZATION by skin contact.
Highly flammable.
Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation.
The material can produce severe chemical burns within the oral cavity and gastrointestinal tract following ingestion. Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments. Ingestion may result in nausea, pain, vomiting. Vomit entering the lungs by aspiration may cause potentially lethal chemical pneumonitis.
The material can produce severe chemical burns to the eye following direct contact. Vapors or mists may be extremely irritating. If applied to the eyes, this material causes severe eye damage. The vapour when concentrated has pronounced eye irritation effects and this gives some warning of high vapour concentrations. If eye irritation occurs seek to reduce exposure with available control measures, or evacuate area.
Skin contact with the material may damage the health of the individual; systemic effects may result following absorption. The material can produce severe chemical burns following direct contactwith the skin. Toxic effects may result from skin absorption.
Inhalation may produce health damage*. If inhaled, this material can irritate the throat andlungs of some persons. Inhalation hazard is increased at higher temperatures. Acute effects from inhalation of high vapor concentrations may be chest and nasal irritation with coughing, sneezing, headache and even nausea. Respiratory sensitization may result in allergic/asthma like responses; from coughing and minor breathing difficulties to bronchitis with wheezing, gasping.
Skin contact with the material is more likely to cause a sensitization reaction in some persons compared to the general population.
Principal routes of exposure are usually by inhalation of vapor and skin contact with the material. Prolonged or continuous skin contact with the liquid may cause defatting with drying, cracking, irritation and dermatitis following. Sensitization may result in allergic dermatitis responses includingrash, itching, hives or swelling of extremities. Sensitization may give severe responses to very low levels of exposure, i.e. hypersensitivity. Sensitized persons should not be allowed to work in situations where exposure may occur. Prolonged and repeated methyl methacrylate exposures may cause liver and kidney changes. Prolonged exposure to methacrylic acid may cause kidney and liver damage.
