Irritating to eyes.
Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments. Considered to be non toxic.
This material can cause eye irritation and damage in some persons. The material may produce severe irritation to the eye causing pronounced inflammation. Repeated or prolonged exposure to irritants may produce conjunctivitis.
Not normally a hazard due to non-volatile nature of product.
Principal routes of exposure are by accidental skin and eye contact andinhalation of generated dusts. On dust inhalation, limestone does not produce pneumoconiosis probably because it is eliminated from the lungs slowly by solution. Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause drying with cracking, irritation and possible dermatitis following.
